I am a... Christian
I grew up in a Christian home, with Christian parents and a Christian brother. I went to church most Sundays and did the usual Christian stuff. However, it wasn't until the middle of 2004 when I went on Focal Point, Focal Point is the Mid-Year Conference for FOCUS, that I really understood what being a Christian was. It was out at Greenhills, at that conference when I really seriously thought about what being a Christian was all about. Previously I'd just known of God, knew he was there, but didn't really pay much attention to him. Suddenly I knew God a lot more, I realised that he loved me and wanted me to know him. I put my trust in him and since then I have been a Real Christian.
Being a Christian hasn't made my life easier, but it has given me someone to turn to when things get really bad. All I need to do is say; "God, help me. I can't do it on my own.", which I have on many occasion, and he has lifted me up and carried me through it.
Early in 2006 I was writing a talk for Sunday School, and came across this verse. It is a great verse which sums up, for me, one of the best things about being a Christian.
"They all ate and were satisfied," ~Mark 6:42
Jesus gives us everything we need to survive. All we have to do is ask him and he will freely provide it for us.
